INDIANAPOLIS – Playing at Baumgartner Field for the first time in some 685 days, the No. 14 UIndy softball team (7-1, 2-0 GLVC) put on a show for the home faithful, opening its conference schedule with back-to-back impressive wins against visiting McKendree (3-5, 2-2).

GAME 1 | UIndy 15, McK 1 (5 innings)
The Greyhounds racked up a jaw-dropping 15 runs in an abbreviated game one. It marked the highest total for the Hounds since hanging 17 on Lake Erie in March of 2014.

The big inning came in the second when UIndy sent 12 batters to the plate and plated eight of them.
Haylie Foster had two singles in the frame,
Brooke Montgomery added an RBI double and
Gianni Iannantone delivered a two-run base hit.

Senior starter
Hallie Waters (4-0) pitched three innings to get the win, giving up one run and zero walks while striking out three. Junior
Audrey Sizemore tossed two scoreless to close the game.

GAME 2 | UIndy 6, McK 1
Freshman
Kenzee Smith pitched a two-hitter to get the complete-game win. The hometown product gave up a solo shot in the fifth but otherwise kept the Bearcats bats guessing. She finished with a line of two hits, one run, four walks and six strikeouts.

Once again, the Greyhound offense generated most of their runs in the second. Both
Sydnee Perry and
Kamrie Foster had a double in the inning, while the latter and Montgomery each had two RBIs.

UIndy tacked up one more in the fifth when
Lexy Rees cleared the right-center fence with her first collegiate home run.
