HAMMOND, Ind. – The 13th-ranked UIndy softball team (7-2) had its six-game winning streak snapped Wednesday afternoon, falling 7-5 in game 1 at Purdue Northwest. Game 2 was halted in the bottom of the fourth due to rain.

The Hounds hung a four-spot on the board in the top of the third to go up 5-1, but the host Pride rallied for three runs in the bottom of the third and managed three more late to go ahead.

Hallie Waters endured her first loss of the season, giving up six runs (five earned) and three walks in 4 1/3 innings.

Taylor Danielson drove in two, including one on a solo bomb in the second;
Lexy Rees delivered her fourth extra-base hit in last three games with an RBI double in the third; and
Kamrie Foster had a pair of singles and a run scored to up her season batting average to .387.
