INDIANAPOLIS – The 13th-ranked UIndy softball team notched a pair of regions wins versus visiting Tiffin University Saturday afternoon. The action was highlighted by a stellar performance from senior pitcher
Hallie Waters, who tossed her second career no-hitter in game one.

GAME 1 | UIndy 10, TU 0 (5 innings)
Waters' impressive effort combined with an offensive explosion from the Greyhound bats to hand the Dragons a lopsided 10-0 defeat in just five innings.

After allowing a walk in each of the first two frames, Waters (5-1) retired the final 11 Tiffin batters to complete the no-no. The Boonville, Ind., product struck out three coaxed eight ground-ball outs in her five innings of work.

UIndy hung crooked numbers on the board in each of the first three innings, including plating five in the second – all with two outs. Sophomore
Lexy Rees delivered the biggest blow with a bases-loaded double.

Kamrie Foster also had three RBIs in the opener, picking up one each on a single, a double and a walk.

GAME 2 | UIndy 5, TU 2
Freshman starter
Kenzee Smith (3-0) authored own her complete-game win in game two, holding the Dragons to two unearned runs in seven innings while setting a season high with 11 Ks.

With the Hounds clinging to a two-run edge in the fifth, Tiffin managed consecutive singles to start the frame and perhaps a game-changing rally. But Smith slammed the door by immediately striking out the side. She did not allow a base runner the rest of the way.

Senior
Brooke Montgomery had two hits and two runs scored, while
Haylie Foster smashed a two-run double in the fifth for some welcomed insurance runs.

Meanwhile, Kamrie tacked on two more hits and two more ribbies to finish the day 4 for 5 at the plate.

FUN FACT
The Foster sisters – Sydnie, Kamrie and Haylie – occupied all three outfield spots starting the top of the fourth inning of game one. All three went on start game two in the outfield.
