MIRAMAR BEACH, Fla. – The UIndy women's team ended its winter layoff at the 54-hole Emerald Coast Classic Sunday and Monday. Competing against some of Division II's best teams at Baytowne Golf Club in Miramar Beach, Fla., the Greyhounds (309-305-303) finished in sixth place to kick off their spring schedule.
Senior
Anna Kramer led the way, finishing at +11 to share sixth place in the 83-woman field. The Spring Lake, Mich., native improved her score each round, culminating in a one-over 72 on Sunday.
Fellow-senior
Pilar Echeverria (74-78-75) tied for 14th place at +14, while junior
Daniela Gomez (75-74-80) topped the UIndy "Grey" team at +16 to settle in 22nd place overall. Other notable finishes included sophomore
Hunter Nugent (80-73-80) in 30th place and senior
Elyse Stasil (77-80-78) in 36th.
The field featured five teams in the top 30 of Golfstats' Division II head-to-head rankings, as well as DIII's 10th-ranked team (Illinois Welseyan).
