SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – The UIndy volleyball team wrapped up its 2021 spring slate with a 3-1 victory at Illinois Springfield Saturday afternoon. The Greyhounds dropped a tight opening set, 25-23, but came back to win each of the next three, including a thrilling 28-26 victory to cap the match.

GLVC Tournament picture.

Elizabeth Eads earned the Hounds set two of the game, the momentum continued to carry as UIndy took the next two. Â
"Today we started a little slowly but then our voice and effort picked up and we executed our game plan well," said Head Coach
Jason Reed. "We're glad to send our seniors out with a win and really thankful for all of their hard work and effort they have given to UIndy this past four years."Â
Senior
Taylor Jacquay led the pack with 21 kills, an ace, and 14 digs. She was followed by
Alex Equihua who posted 48 assists and 18 digs.Â
"We are very proud of them and look forward to watching them succeed in their next chapters of life." Reed added.Â
The Screaming Eagles were led by Hannah Nicolaisen who had 15 kills and 20 digs.Â
WRAPPING UPÂ
"This season has definitely been a challenging one for us," Reed said. "We played our best volleyball at the end and I think we will see the fruit of our hard work and dedication in future seasons."Â
Senior
Katie Furlong led the pack in kills for the season with 165, while
MaKenna Barnhart led the team in digs with 323 as well as service aces with 15.
Alex Equihua led the Greyhounds in assists with 567.Â
"We're all looking foward to getting back to work this summer and competing again in the fall."
