Multiple Hounds Earn Hat Tricks Against Quincy

INDIANAPOLIS - After honoring this season's seniors in the 27-0 win against Maryville on Friday, the No. 1 UIndy women's lacrosse team (11-0, 4-0 GLVC) returned to Key Stadium on Sunday for another home matchup against the visiting Quincy Hawks (2-7, 0-4). Abigail Lagos emerged with the same offensive dominance she's had all season, the Windham, N.H. native tallied a team-high seven points on Sunday afternoon, scoring five goals and earning a pair of assists along the way.

INS & OUTS
The Greyhounds came out of the gates swinging on offense, the nation's best team hitting double-digits in the contest's first 10 minutes of action. Multiple Hounds would appear with a pair of scores during that tenure (Lagos, Jess Soenen, Sarah Klein and Quinn Malcolm), Kara Antonucci even finding her name in the score column, the junior defense-men's first of the season. At the end of the first half of action, Lauryn Hardoy would garner her third and fourth assists before time expired on UIndy's 17-1 lead, the senior finding Mackenzie Winn and Grace Gunneson for goals.

The second half would see nine goals from eight different student-athletes on the Hounds' side of the field. Freshman Joey Fowler would knock in a pair of goals for the second-straight game along with her three draw controls, finding two during their win against the Saints on Friday. Peyton Romig was the main Greyhound in the circle once again, the senior's consist performance garnered another 19 draw controls on the day against the Hawks. Amy Vegh, Winn and Gunneson all would scoop up a trio of ground balls each in the contest, the team only needing 21 for the win. Cassidy King tallied another win on her name as the Greyhounds' goalkeeper in the contest, halting a pair of saves in the first half with only allowing a single goal in the process.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- The Hounds' five turnovers marks a season-low for, previously having seven in two games this season.
- UIndy's defense refused to let Quincy run their offense off of loose balls, allowing only five ground balls for the Hawks, a season-low.
- Hardoy's four assists marks the third time this season the senior has hit that number in a single game.

UP NEXT
The Hounds will prepare for what might be considered as the biggest contest in Division II on this upcoming Thursday afternoon. The two GLVC powerhouses of No. 1-ranked UIndy and No. 2-ranked Lindenwood will face off on April 22 at 2 p.m. in St. Charles, Mo., the Lions hosting the team's only matchup in the regular season.
