INDIANAPOLIS – The University of Indianapolis men's and women's tennis teams both earned the top seed in the east in the 2021 Great Lakes Valley Conference Tennis Championships this upcoming weekend. The pair of eight-team tournaments begin play on Friday with the Championships set for Sunday in Romeoville, Ill.

Both the UIndy men and women enter as the defending champions, taking home the title at the 2019 Championships before the COVID-19 pandemic canceled the 2020 event. The Hounds pace the conference with 11 titles on the women's side and 10 for the men, including a stretch of four consecutive titles from 2016-19.
The women enter as the No. 1 seed in the East with a perfect 16-0 record on the year. The Hounds will face the No. 4 seed in the West, Quincy University in Friday's quarterfinal, slated for 10 a.m. ET at Plainfield East High School.
The men are also earned the No. 1 seed in the East with an unblemished 6-0 in conference action this season. UIndy will square off against the No. 4 seed in the West, Rockhurst University, at 1 p.m. ET on Friday at Plainfield East.
Saturday's semifinal and Sunday's Championship for both the men and women will be held on the campus of Lewis University.
