INDIANAPOLIS- Behind a strong showing from their upper weights, the #8 UIndy Greyhounds took a 22-16 win over visiting #T18 Lindenwood in Nicoson Hall Wednesday evening, opening the Great Lakes Valley Conference portion of the schedule for both teams. 

 The visiting Lions (0-1; 0-1 GLVC) took wins at the first four weights to take an 13-0 lead going into 157. Dawson Combest put the Hounds (4-3; 1-0 GLVC)  on the board with a 10-0 major decision over the Lions' Donald Griffin, but Lindenwood notched a win at 165 to push its lead to 16-4.

UIndy won out the rest of the dual, starting with #1 Andrew Sams taking a 3-1 win over Elijah Mahan at 174. Gleason Mappes then put up four points with a 9-0 major decision at 184, with #4 Derek Blubaugh following with a tech fall, 19-3 in 5:46, to tie the team score at 16-16 heading into the night's final match. Cale Gray the took the mat, ending the dual in dramatic fashion with a pin in 4:01, giving the Greyhounds the 22-16 team win.   
 
The Greyhounds continue GLVC action Sunday, with a trip to Drury. Action from Drury begins at 2 p.m. EST and can be watched live on the GLVC Sports Network.
