MANHEIM, Pa.- The UIndy Greyhounds moved up one spot to #7 in the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Division II Coaches Rankings, released Friday afternoon.
The Greyhounds amassed 45 points behind four ranked individuals. Central Oklahoma held onto D2's #1 spot with 109 total points, with 2021 National Champion St. Cloud State in the #2 spot with 106 points. Nebraska-Kearney (89 points), West Liberty (71 points), and McKendree (54 points) round out the Top 5.
Andrew Sams leads the Hounds in the #1 spot at 174. He is joined by two-time All-American
Dawson Combest making his 2022 debut in the poll, coming in at #4 at 157.
Derek Blubaugh is D2's #6 at 197, with Greyhound 149
Logan Bailey holding his #9 ranking.Â
The Great Lakes Valley Conference has four teams in the Top 25, with Lindenwood (#T17) and Drury (#T24) joining the Hounds and Bearcats. The GLVC schedule continues Sunday, with the Greyhounds heading to #T24 Drury for a Sunday afternoon dual. Action against the Panthers begins at 2 p.m. EST. Â
