Hounds End Season in GLVC Quarterfinal

EAST PEORIA, Ill. – The sixth-seeded UIndy volleyball team (13-14) ended its season on Thursday evening, falling in four sets to No. 3 seed Rockhurst (19-6) in the day's final quarterfinal.

The Greyhounds hit .295 in the loss, led by middles Elizabeth Eads (10 kills, .667%) and Hannah Sabotin (nine blocks, seven kills).

The match also marked head coach Jason Reed's 300th career contest as the Greyhound bench boss.

- Emma Jones ends her career on a high note, finishing with 13 kills at a .385 attacking clip. The Greenwood native also chipped in four block assists and four digs.

HOUND BYTES
"I'm sad to see the season come to a close, but we're really proud of what we left on the floor tonight," said Reed. "I really like how we competed in the back half of the season, in large part to our senior class. They established an identity and held the team accountable and showed great leadership. I'm so confident in them in their next chapters of their lives."

SENIOR CLASS
UIndy graduates six student-athletes, all of whom contributed to the 2019 team that advanced to the NCAA Midwest Regional. Those seniors include MaKenna Barnhart, Alex Equihua, Hannah Huppenbauer, Emma Jones, Gillian Santana, and Kyra Simmons.

Barnhart caps her career third all-time in program history with 1,792 digs, following a senior campaign in which she recorded 474 scoops. Her backline comrade, Santana, tallied 1,172 digs during her four years as a Greyhound.

Equihua finishes 11th in the program record book with 2,141 assists.
