EAST PEORIA, Ill. – The sixth-seeded UIndy volleyball team (13-14) ended its season on Thursday evening, falling in four sets to No. 3 seed Rockhurst (19-6) in the day's final quarterfinal.

The Greyhounds hit .295 in the loss, led by middles
Elizabeth Eads (10 kills, .667%) and
Hannah Sabotin (nine blocks, seven kills).
The match also marked head coach
Jason Reed's 300th career contest as the Greyhound bench boss.

Emma Jones ends her career on a high note, finishing with 13 kills at a .385 attacking clip. The Greenwood native also chipped in four block assists and four digs.

Alex Equihua recorded her fifth double-double of the fall, dishing out 22 assists and making 14 digs.

Grace Hegwood and
Sophia Parlanti combined for 20 kills on the outside.

Lauren Peal finished with 10 digs, the fifth time this season the sophomore recorded double figures. The Grand Rapids, Mich., product tallied double-digit scoops in each of the team's final three matches of the fall.

"I'm sad to see the season come to a close, but we're really proud of what we left on the floor tonight," said Reed. "I really like how we competed in the back half of the season, in large part to our senior class. They established an identity and held the team accountable and showed great leadership. I'm so confident in them in their next chapters of their lives."

UIndy graduates six student-athletes, all of whom contributed to the 2019 team that advanced to the NCAA Midwest Regional. Those seniors include
MaKenna Barnhart,
Alex Equihua,
Hannah Huppenbauer,
Emma Jones,
Gillian Santana, and
Kyra Simmons.

Barnhart caps her career third all-time in program history with 1,792 digs, following a senior campaign in which she recorded 474 scoops. Her backline comrade, Santana, tallied 1,172 digs during her four years as a Greyhound.
Equihua finishes 11th in the program record book with 2,141 assists.
