HOW IT HAPPENED
Much like Wednesday night against Hillsdale, UIndy found itself trailing early on. Northwood jumped out to an early 11-4 lead halfway through the first quarter and seemed to have the momentum in its favor. Despite this, the Hounds held strong and battled the home team to a 22-22 tie heading into the second quarter. A little later, the Greyhounds would break through in the second quarter as they executed a favorable 9-0 scoring run that lasted over four minutes which spiraled into a nine point lead for UIndy at the half.
Â
The Hounds held steady out of the break and latched on to a 12 point lead with a little over a minute remaining in the third. However, a buzzer-beating 3-pointer at the end of the quarter by the Timberwolves was the catalyst for Northwood in climbing back in the contest.
Â
NU tied things up halfway through the final quarter and battled the Greyhounds all the way to the final buzzer in front of its home crowd. However, a huge three-point play by Hill with just under a minute left and a
Mya Scheidt offensive rebound off a missed free throw with just second remaining sealed UIndy the road victory.
