INDIANAPOLIS – The University of Indianapolis men's basketball team faced their biggest road test of the season on Thursday night, facing Southwest Baptist in GLVC action. The Hounds led by as much as eight in the first half, but came up short falling 72-62.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Bearcats led by six early in the first half but the Hounds were able to put seven quick points on the board to take their first lead of the game with a three from Jakobie Robinson and a jumper for Josiah Tynes.
Trailing by two, a fast break lay up from Jesse Bingham sparked another 8-0 run for the Hounds capped off with a corner three from Aaron Etherington. The Bearcats utilized a 14-3 run of their own in the final three minutes to take a 36-30 lead to the break.
UIndy cut their deficit to one twice in the second half but were unable to complete the comeback. Southwest Baptist ran away late after shooting 7-of-10 from three points range in the second half alone.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Cory Miller Jr. posted 16 points while Jakobie Robinson finished with 15 on 6-for-9 shooting including a trio of three's.
- Kendrick Tchoua paced the Hounds with five rebounds while Dee Montgomery dished out four assists.
- Julian Steinfeld added five points and three blocks.
- The Hounds won the battle in the paint, outscoring SBU 24-16.

The Hounds remain in Missouri this weekend, taking on Rockhurst on Saturday followed by McKendree on Monday for their three game in five games.
