Hounds Push Past Rockhurst, 70-63

INDIANAPOLIS – The University of Indianapolis men's basketball team completed a second-half comeback on Saturday, downing Rockhurst 70-63 in GLVC action.  Four Greyhounds scored in double figures led by Dee Montgomery with 20, just two short of a season-high.

The win puts the Hounds at 13-8 on the year and 7-6 in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Both teams shot an even 50% from three-point range in the first half but the Hawks sunk a pair of three's in the final 30 seconds to take a 35-29 lead to the break.

The Hounds came out hot to start the second frame, utilizing a 15-2 run to regain a seven-point lead.  Montgomery sparked the run with a three before Aaron Etherington finished it off with a three of his own.

Rockhurst threatened late, making it a two-point game with 6:27 remaining but three straight baskets in less than one minute put the Hounds ahead by eight.  Cory Miller Jr. notched a driving lay-up before stealing the ball in the court and finding Jesse Bingham under the basket.  Montgomery then came up with a steal and found Miller Jr. in the paint to make it 59-51.

The Hawks pulled within three with 1:49 remaining but UIndy went a perfect nine-for-nine from the charity stripe in the closing minutes to hold on for the 70-63 win.
