INDIANAPOLIS – UIndy tennis standouts freshman Edgar Destouet and sophomore Maissane Aik have respectively been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Player of the Week in men's and women's tennis as announced by the league office on Tuesday. 

MEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Edgar Destouet, #7 Indianapolis

Major: International Relations
Team Results: 6-1 W vs. Butler (2/8) | 6-1 W vs. #21 Washburn (2/12) | 5-1 W vs. #19 Southwest Baptist (2/13)

• Went 3-0 at both singles and doubles last week, helping UIndy to win over D-I Butler and pair of ranked wins with one against GLVC foe SBU
• Played No. 4 against Butler, beating Michael Karr 6-0, 6-2
• Took wins at No. 3 over Washburn's Tim Hammes (6-2, 5-7, 6-3) and SBU's Carlos Corser (1-6, 6-1, 6-1)
• Partnered with Jason Gerweck at No. 2 doubles for wins over Washburn's Raul-Alin Dicu/Noah Neideck (6-4) and SBU's David Szeri/Alvaro Nunez (6-1)
• Added win at No. 2 doubles with Yoann Viel against Butler's Michael Dickson/Ryan Roegner 6-4
• Earns first career Player of the Week award

WOMEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Team Results: 5-2 W vs. #17 Washburn (2/12) | 6-0 W vs. #19 Southwest Baptist (2/13) 

• Went 2-0 at No. 2 singles and 1-1 at No. 1 doubles in helping UIndy earn wins over two ranked foes, including defeating GLVC's SBU
• Beat Washburn's Isabella Martensson 6-2, 6-3 and SBU's Elsa Pascual 7-6, 6-2
• Won 6-2 at doubles with Anna Novikova against SBU's Diana Cabrera and Paula Ballesteros
• Earns first career Player of the Week award
