Miller Jr. Joins 1,000 Point Club on Senior Night

INDIANAPOLIS – The University of Indianapolis men's basketball team opened their final home stand of the season with a win on Thursday night, taking down Missouri S&T 80-50 in Great Lakes Valley Conference action.  The season sweep of the Miners put the Hounds at 14-9 overall and 8-7 in GLVC play.

The Hounds have won 13 straight meetings with the Miners and hold the all-time series lead at 15-1.  UIndy is 7-0 against the Miners when facing them at home.  The 30-point victory is the largest for the Hounds since a 105-61 win over East West on New Years Eve.

SENIOR SALUTE
Guards Cory Miller Jr. and Dee Montgomery were honored with a pregame ceremony as they enter their final home stand of their UIndy careers.  Montgomery is graduating will a degree in Sport Management while Miller Jr. is graduating with a degree in Finance and a Masters in Business Administration.

1,000 POINT CLUB
With a pair of free throws in the opening minute, Miller Jr. joined an elite club as the 43rd Greyhound to eclipse the 1,000 career point mark.  He currently sits at 1,006 points, 201 assists and 91 steals.  He looks to become the eight player in program history with 1,000 points, 200 assists and 100 steals.

HOW IT HAPPENED
UIndy held an 18-point lead at the break after shooting 43.2% from field goal range.  Jesse Bingham was red hot in the first, shooting 6-of-8 and scoring 16.

The Miners opened the second half with a 10-0 run to cut their deficit to eight until back-to-back jumpers from Bingham halted their momentum.  Midway thru the second half UIndy pulled away with a 9-0 run.  Jakobie Robinson and Miller Jr. combined for three's on three straight Greyhound posessions.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Jesse Bingham finished with 23 points, shooting 9-for-16 on the night.
- Jakobie Robinson and Dee Montgomery also reached double figures with 14 each.
- Julian Steinfeld paced the team with nine rebounds while Miller Jr. dished out four assists.
- UIndy scored 25 points off 16 Miner turnovers.

UP NEXT
The Hounds have their final home game of the regular season on Saturday as they host Drury at 3 pm ET inside Nicoson Hall.
