UIndy Takes Down Newberry on the Road

NEWBERRY, SC – The University of Indianapolis men's lacrosse team picked up their third straight win to open the season on Saturday, downing Newberry 15-8 in South Region action.

HOW IT HAPPENED
For the first time this season the Hounds (3-0) trailed as Newberry (2-1) got on the board first.  The Hounds responded with two goals in a two minute span to take the lead with Brian Robb and Wyatt Auyer finding the net.  Both teams scored in the final 90 seconds of the frame to give the Hounds a 3-2 lead after one.

UIndy outscored Newberry 5-3 in the second to take an 8-5 lead to halftime.  Owain Braddock, James Whiteford and Brian Rob combined for three goals in four minutes.

The Hounds pulled away with a 7-0 run in the second half with Wyatt Auyer netting a trio of goals.  Robb, Braddock, Andrew Simonich and Sam Artsten each netted one in the run.  A strong UIndy defense held the Wolves to just three goals in the second half to hand Newberry their first loss of the season.
