Bolivar, MO – The University of Indianapolis women's basketball team fell in the first round of the GLVC Championship tournament to the No. 8 seeded Southwest Baptist Bearcats, 64-61 on Monday afternoon.  
 
The Hounds will end their season 10-17 overall and 7-11 in the GLVC.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Greyhounds went down early in the first quarter but fought back quick by overcoming a nine-to-three deficit, and shrinking the Bearcats lead to one by the end of the first quarter. The Hounds continued to keep the game within reach until halftime, with Taylor Drury leading the charge with 11 points by half.  
 
Southwest Baptist came out of the gates hot in the second half, extending its lead to 10 in the first three minutes. Suddenly a three pointer by Marissa Knobloch at the three-minute mark put the Hounds within one, then an Ilani Williams-Harris three tied it at 42. The Greyhounds would not let their season go down easy.
 
After a back and forth fourth quarter, it came down to the last :30 seconds – a Taylor Drury layup would put the Greyhounds up 61 to 60 with 22 seconds to go. Then two SBU free throws would put the Bearcats up by one yet again, there was nine seconds of play when the Hounds called a timeout. However, another set of free throws would secure the win for the Bearcats.
 
Taylor Drury led the Greyhounds with 24 points and nine rebounds. While Lauren With had 12 points and eight rebounds.
 
SBU was led by Kyleigh Vaught who had 17 points.
