Box Score INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Four Greyhounds scored in double numbers on Saturday afternoon as the University of Indianapolis women's Basketball team handed the Truman State Bulldogs their fourth conference loss on Saturday afternoon in Nicoson Hall. UIndy took the win 70-59.
The win brings the Hounds overall record to 8-11 and their conference record to 5-6.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Greyhounds got off to a hot start with a 24-point first quarter, shooting over 64 percent to end the first quarter. Following that up with a 15-point second quarter. The Hounds energy flowed throughout Nicoson Hall throughout the game, with both the bench and audience erupting in cheers with each bucket.
Truman wouldn't go down without a fight. The Bulldogs, who currently sit second behind Missouri – St. Louis in the GLVC Central Division, narrowed the Hounds lead in the third to just six entering the fourth quarter. Having outscored the Greyhounds in the third quarter, 25-to-21.
"I was really proud of our girls effort on both ends of the floor," said Head Coach
Kristin Wodrich. "Truman is such a talented team we needed to lock in down the stretch and our girls did that."
The game was physical between the two dogs, with the Bulldogs drawing 15 fouls and the Greyhounds drawing nine.
The Hounds were led by
Lauren With who previously posted her season best in the Greyhounds last game (21 points against UIS, 1/29/22), who repeated in double-digits with 17 and eight rebounds.
Ilani Williams-Harris (11),
Mya Scheidt (11), and
Shira Sasson (10) also made major offensive impacts for the Greyhounds.
The Bulldogs were led by Hannah Belanger, who had 20 points and five rebounds.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
-UIndy made 100 percent of its free throws in shooting nine.
-The Greyhounds shot 47 percent from behind the arc, and 46 from the field.
-UIndy outrebounded the Bulldogs 36-34.
