Two-time All-American

Jack Eiteljorge is back in the bracket at 165, after an electric Super Regional in which he beat three ranked opponents en route to the bracket title.Â
At 174,
Andrew Sams also took the Super Regional title and is now a two-time National Qualifier after finishing as an All-American in taking 5th at 174 a season ago. He is joined by two first-time National Qualfiers in
Derek Blubaugh (197) and
Cale Gray (285).
THE SEEDS: Both Sams (174) and Blubaugh (197) come in as the #3 seeds in their respective brackets, while Eiteljorge is the #4 seed at 165. Combest is the #7 at 157.
MAKING THE RETURN TRIP: Three of the Greyhounds in the field have wrestled on the NCAA mats before, with Combest as the veteran of the group making his third trip at 157.
Logan Bailey (149), Eiteljorge (165) and Sams (174) are all making their second trip to the NCAA meet.
IT'S A FAMILY THING: The Bailey brothers come into the 2022 NCAA event as the third pair of brothers to represent the Greyhounds at an NCAA tournament. Both Dan and Duane Lutgring qualified in their UIndy careers with Dan making the trip in 1978 and Duane in both 1982 and 1985. The second pair of brothers to make the trip did so multiple times, with Josh Kieffer qualifying four times (2012 14, 15, 16) and his twin Justin qualifying twice (2013, 14). The brothers both made the trip in the same year in 2014, making the Bailey's trip this year the second in which Head Coach Jason Warthan has coached a pair of brothers at Nationals.
STICK 'EM: Now two-time National Qualifier
Logan Bailey leads the Greyhounds with 33 wins on the season, with a whopping 18 of those wins coming via pin. LB's 18 pins ties the UIndy single-season record, which has stood since 1983 when Wade Hall also pinned 18 opponents.
