ST. LOUIS- A pair of Greyhounds will wrestle in tonight's National Finals, and another pair solidified their spots as 2022 NCAA Division II All-Americans Saturday afternoon at Chaifetz Arena.

For the first time in program history, two Greyhounds will wrestle in the finals of their respective weight classes at the NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships, with both #3 Andrew Sams (174) and #3 Derek Blubaugh (197) wrestling their way to finalist spots. 

UIndy currently sits in 6th as a team with 48.5 team points heading into the final session Saturday night. The highest finish in program history is 8th at the NCAA Division II level, with the 2014 team posting that feat behind a program-record four All-Americans, which this year's squad has also tied. The 1961 Greyhounds finished 7th at the NAIA National Championships, behind three All-Americans

In addition, Logan Bailey and #7 Dawson Combest both solidified their placements at this year's Nationals, with Bailey taking the 6th place spot at 149 and Combest finishing in 7th at 157. The All-American finish was the first of Bailey's career, while Combest is now a three-time All-American as a Greyhound.

Bailey finished his year with a 36-8 record, with his 36 wins good for 17th-most in a UIndy season ever. The second-year Greyhound also amassed 18 pins on the year, good enough to tie the Greyhound season record which has stood since 1983.

Combest closed out his third year as the UIndy starter at 157 with a 13-5 record. His status as a three-time All-American puts him among UIndy program elite, as he is just the fifth Greyhound in program history to All-American three or more times in a career. 

The finals session of the 2022 NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships begins at 7 p.m. CST/8 p.m. EST.
