Hounds Fall To No. 8 Adelphi

Garden City, N.Y. – The University of Indianapolis women's lacrosse team dropped it's first match of the season to No. 8 ranked Adelphi, 5-7, on Wednesday afternoon. The No. 1 ranked Hounds now hold a season record of 5-1.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Greyhounds struck first -  a Jess Soenen goal assisted by Sarah Klein put the Greyhounds up 1-0. Adelphi struck back with two goals, and then an Abigail Lagos goal would tie the game at the five minute mark in the first. The Greyhounds ended the first quarter down 3-2.
 
After both teams scored two goals to end the second the Hounds were down 5-4 at the half.
 
A Greyhounds scoreless third quarter, with another Adephi goal would extend the Hounds deficit 6-4. Abigail Lagos would be the last of the Hounds to score in the fourth when another Adelphi goal at the six minute to go mark would solidify the Hounds first loss.
 
Abigail Lagos led the Greyhounds with three goals, two ground balls, and one draw control. Audrey Moran took the loss in goal in posting four saves.
 
Kristina Schweitzer led Adelphi with three goals.
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
-The Hounds were out shot 21-17.
-UIndy had 23 turnovers and forced 14.
-Adelphi picked up 19 ground balls to the Hounds 12.
