AZUSA, Calif. – The University of Indianapolis women's tennis team defeated No. 19 Azusa Pacific on Friday afternoon. The Hounds downed the Cougars 4-1. The Hounds extend their record to 8-2.
In doubles,
Maissane Aik and
Maria Solnyshkina were the first to finish with a 6-1 win over APU's Audrey Stewart and April Wong. Then
Arina Amaning and
Anna Novikova took the win 6-3 in their match, while
Isabella Dunlap and
Sofia Sharonova's match went unfinished.
Maissane Aik was the first to win in singles, with a 6-2, 6-3 win. Novikova was the next to finish with a win by opponent retirement, after two sets with 1-6 and 6-3. Finally
Kristina Lagoda secured the win for the Greyhounds with a 6-1, 6-4 win.
Isabella Dunlap fell in the one spot in two sets, while
Arina Amaning and
Lea Cakarevic matches went unfinished.
