Hounds Defense Shines in Findlay Win

FINDLAY, Ohio – The UIndy women's lacrosse stellar defense did not allow a single goal in the first half against the Findlay Oilers on Wednesday afternoon. After taking a 12-0 lead at the half, Indianapolis defeated Findlay 21-2 in non-conference action.  The No. 2 ranked Hounds now hold an 8-1 overall record heading into conference play this weekend.

The last scoreless half occurred when the Hounds hosted Maryville last season in a 27-0 win.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Mackenzie Winn was the first to strike just over two minutes into the game. Four Greyhound goals quickly followed to end the first quarter, two of which were scored by Abigail Lagos while Winn added another.

Peyton Romig kicked off the second quarter and didn't stop there. She was followed by Lagos who added a swift snipe past the Findlay goaltender. The two captains swapped goals back and forth throughout the second to end the first half up 12-0.

Halftime didn't call for much adjustment from the Hounds – from coos and calls from the Greyhound bench it was clear there was no lack of energy. The Greyhounds continued to march on throughout the game by continuing to show their offensive dominance and defensive power by only allowing two Findlay goals.

Bella Schorr led the charge for the Hounds' defense – having caused four turnovers along with five ground balls and two draw controls. Abigail Lagos posted a season-high of seven goals off 16 shots in leading the offensive charge.

Audrey Moran was credited with the win after posting three saves.
