Box Score Lebanon, Ill. – The University of Indianapolis men's tennis team took a win over the McKendree Bearcats today, 5-2.
This marks the Hounds second straight conference win after defeating Lewis on April 2.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Greyhounds took an early lead in doubles, by taking two of the three matches.
Edgar Destouet and
Yoann Viel took the win 6-2, and
Jason Gerweck and
Pedro Franca won 7-5.
The Greyhounds did not let up in singles, earning victories in four single matches to secure the win over the Bearcats. McKendree did not go down easy, with three singles matches going into a third set.
Nikolaj Talimaa took a 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 win in the No. 2 spot, while
Yoann Viel took a win with a 6-4 wrap up set. Along with
Zac Faveri winning a 1-0 tie breaker, and
Jason Gerweck sweeping his match 6-1, 5-0.
