Box Score ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The University of Indianapolis men's tennis team has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference tournament runner-up after dropping a close match to McKendree in the Championship on Sunday afternoon, the Hounds fell 4-3.

After an early lead in doubles, headed by a nail-biting match won by
Zac Faveri and
Nikolaj Talimaa who won 6-4, and
Yoann Viel and
Edgar Destouet who took a 6-4 win by use of their unmatched court chemistry. The Greyhounds were put to the test.

McKendree brought a fan base, and they were loud. Despite the Greyhounds typical hoots and hollers that echo across the court, the Bearcat crowd created an environment that would put pressure on any team. In the one position, was the GLVC Player of the Year, Mckendree's Leonardo Frederico against UIndy's GLVC Freshman of the Year, Destouet – while a tough match it was ultimately the Bearcats who advanced.

UIndy was led by
Yoann Viel and
Pedro Franca who both took wins in singles and secured the points in their doubles matches as well. Franca's match was won on a close tie breaker after a 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 set's, it was Greyhound energizer
Tom Zeuch who reached Franca first – throwing his arms around him in celebration.

Despite a nearly three-hour long match, and the biggest display of Grit from both teams, it was the Bearcats who prevailed.

The Greyhounds await their postseason fate which is set to begin with the Midwest Regional that will take place on May 9.
