INDIANAPOLIS—The UIndy softball team lost 7-0 to Grand Valley State Saturday afternoon at the NCAA DII Midwest Regional. GVSU's Hannah Beatus threw a no-hitter to send the Greyhounds to an elimination game.
 
The Lakers move on to Saturday's regional final. UIndy, meanwhile, will turn around and play an elimination game versus Findlay later this afternoon, with the winner needing to beat GVSU twice to claim a spot at the Super Regional.
 
The game featured one of the marquee matchups of this early postseason, with Beatus (20-3) besting UIndy ace Kenzee Smith (25-7). Offensively, UIndy coaxed three walks in the game, all by junior Emily O'Connor.
