KANSAS CITY, Mo.—The UIndy women's golf team extended its season Wednesday with a runner-up showing at the NCAA DII East Regional. The Greyhounds were one of five teams to advance, punching their ticket to Gainesville, Ga., for next week's NCAA DII Championships.
Â
UIndy secured its 10th consecutive trip to Nationals with a final-round team score of 298 to finish the week with an even 900, 16 strokes ahead of third-place Tiffin. Both teams will be moving on to the DII Championships next week, however, as will East-champ Findlay, Grand Valley State and Missouri-St. Louis. The three-day, 54-hole regional was held at the par-71 Shoal Creek Golf Club in Kansas City, Mo.
Â
The Hounds were led by the consistent one-two punch of
Catharina Graf and
Anci Dy. Each of them improved their scores throughout, with Graf capping her week with a final-round 70 and Dy an even-par 71. Dy overcame a double bogey on hole 2 Wednesday to shoot two-under golf the rest of the way and take fourth place in her NCAA Regional debut. Graf, meanwhile, added a third-place finish at regionals to her recent conference medalist performance at the recent
GLVC Championships.
Â
Senior
Elyse Stasil (+21) and junior
Katelyn Skinner (+21) finished just outside the top 25, sharing 26th place among the region's best 81 golfers. Freshman
Ellen Caton (=51) settled at 76th.
Â
The NCAA DII Championships are scheduled for May 10-14 at Chattahoochee Golf Club in Gainesville, Ga. Last May, the Greyhounds qualified for match play to earn a
national quarterfinal appearance.
TUESDAY
The UIndy remained in second place after another successful day at the NCAA DII East Regional Tuesday, held at the par-71 Shoal Creek Golf Club in Kansas City, Mo. Led by a pair of top-five competitors, the Greyhounds combined for a second-round team score of 297 to craft an 11-stroke cushion over third-place Tiffin.
Â
With just 18 holes left to play, the Greyhounds are looking to stick in the top five to qualify for the NCAA DII Women's Golf Championships later this month. UIndy will be joined by Tiffin and team-leader Findlay in Wednesday's final groups, with tee times starting at 11:10 a.m. ET.
Â
Both
Catharina Graf (+3) and
Anci Dy (+4) will begin the final round in the top five. Graf fired an even-par 71 Tuesday to move into a three-way tie for second, while Dy carded a one-over 72 to take sole possession of fifth. Graf sits just three back of leader Jill Schmitmeyer of Findlay.
Â
Katelyn Skinner (+13, T-21) and
Elyse Stasil (+14, 26th) both shot a 77 Tuesday, while
Ellen Caton (+27, T-61) carded an 81.
MONDAY
UIndy opened the East Regional with a solid team score of 305, good for second place on the leaderboard. Two Hounds landed in the top 10 through 18 holes.
Both junior
Catharina Graf and freshman
Anci Dy carded a three-over 74 on the par-71 course, good for a share of ninth place among the region's best. Dy led all players with five round-one birdies. Junior

Elyse Stasil (+8, T-26) and freshman
Ellen Caton (+17, T-71).
