Longtime Greyhound Dr. Jackie Paquette Accepts Position at NWCA

INDIANAPOLIS – Senior Associate Athletic Director and Senior Woman Administrator for Student Support Dr. Jackie Paquette '14 has accepted a position with the National Wrestling Coaches Association.  A staple in the University of Indianapolis Department of Athletics for over a decade, her last day will be June 30.

Dr. Paquette just completed her 15th year as a part of the UIndy Athletics staff, having served as the Senior Woman Administrator since 2012.  She advised the UIndy Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), which was won the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) SAAC Challenge nine of the last 10 years.  She also coordinated the community service and engagement efforts of all 23 athletic programs, and has had oversight of various sports in her time at UIndy.

"Jackie will be missed by UIndy and myself, but I am so happy for her to get the opportunity of a lifetime in the sport of wrestling," commented Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Scott Young '99 '02.  "She has been a tremendous administrator and someone that I can always count on.  It is so difficult to find someone who's skill set allows them to navigate nearly every challenge and project we face as a department, but she continually did that with ease.  I wish her the best in her new adventure."

A MESSAGE FROM DR. PAQUETTE
Leaving UIndy is so surreal to me, I still haven't completely wrapped my head around it. I am so lucky to have found a home as a Greyhound for the last 15 years, and I am so blessed to have made so many relationships through my work at UIndy. I am also so proud to be an alum of the University, something that will always keep me connected to this great place.

I am so thankful to Scott Young for not only being a terrific boss and colleague but also for being one of my closest friends in supporting me in taking this opportunity. I spent so long with the absolute pleasure of working everyday with my best friends, and with student-athletes that truly have brought such joy and fulfillment to my life. I have memories and experiences that have forever shaped my life that I will never forget from being a Greyhound.

The opportunity to work with UIndy wrestling has changed my life and put me on the path leading to this new position. Jason Warthan and Bob Brubeck introduced me to the sport of wrestling and have supported me personally and professionally for more than a decade. The evolution of my career has been so greatly impacted by these two, and I am so very thankful to them for being such large parts of my life.

There are simply too many people to mention individually, but I just want to say thank you to everyone who has made the last 15 years so transformative in my life. We tout the "family atmosphere" of UIndy, and I am a true believer in that statement. I am so proud of the experience our programs offer student-athletes and am proud to have been a part of those experiences for as long as I have.
