INDIANAPOLIS – The UIndy volleyball team (2-1) swept the visiting Findlay Oilers (0-3) on Saturday to cap its first weekend of the 2022 campaign from inside the Athletics and Recreation Center (ARC). 
 
The Greyhound defense limited the Oiler attack to a paltry .065 hitting percentage, while the offense was fueled by Lauren Cullison's 10 kills. Overall, UIndy recorded a .342 clip on the attack, its highest mark since November 2019.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
Following an intense opening game that saw eight ties and six lead changes, the Greyhounds never looked back with back-to-back dominating wins in the final sets – UIndy held Findlay to 17 and 13 points in the second and third games, respectively.

Cullison played a major factor in the deciding set, finishing six of her 10 kills in the third.

The final frame was also the Greyhounds' best defensively, as the Oilers hit just .027 and committed 10 attacking errors.
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Grace Hegwood and Hannah Sabotin combined for 16 kills on .536 hitting, while five Greyhounds tallied a service ace against Findlay.
- In addition to forcing 24 attack errors from the Oilers, UIndy finished with six blocks, three of which came from senior middle Elizabeth Eads.
 - MaKenna Barnhart continued her rise on the UIndy all-time digs list, adding 16 in Saturday's victory. Alex Equihua chipped in eight scoops to add to her nine helpers.
 
UP NEXT
The Greyhounds are scheduled to host their second tournament of the season next weekend, as seven teams visit the Circle City. Matches will be played in Ruth Lilly Fitness Center and Nicoson Hall all day on Friday and Saturday.
