INDIANAPOLIS – The University of Indianapolis women's soccer team held the No. 15 team in the country in the McKendree Bearcats to a 1-1 tie this Sunday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The scoring was a first half affair in today's match, with the Bearcats striking first. At the 12th minute a penalty by the Bearcat's Elizabeth Goldstein put McKendree up 1-0.
The Greyhounds didn't let that score sit long as
Kiki Sauceda returned from injury in the 27th minute. She didn't take long to make her presence known, forcing a penalty kick of her own, slamming it into the top left of the net for her first goal of the season and the equalizer.
As the second half began the Hounds pushed on the attack, sending three balls on net before the 66th minute. The Bearcats and the Greyhounds battled and fought for every possession but to no avail as the game ended in a 1-1 tie. The tie moves the Greyhounds to 1-2-3 on the season and moves the Bearcats to 4-0-2.
