ST. LOUIS, Mo. – No. 12-ranked UIndy wrestling team traveled to St. Louis, Mo. for a dual with the No. 18 Maryville Saints, a face-off in which the Saints came out victorious, 20-17.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The matches began at 157, with No. 3
Logan Bailey playing leadoff man for the Greyhounds. Despite early aggression out of Bailey, he fell 4-2 giving the Saints an early lead. The highlight of the day for the Hounds came right after where No. 8
Jack Eiteljorge made the upset and with flair, dominating No. 7 Cole Ritter from the gates. A 24-8 tech fall win by Eiteljorge put the Hounds back on top.
Maryville refused to quit, however, winning a close match at 174 and claiming a major decision at 184. No. 11
Derek Blubaugh helped calm the bleeding with a pin in 4:48, regaining the lead for the Hounds. Despite late period heroics by
Cale Gray, the Hounds would fall at 285.
Aidan Sprague and No. 8
Breyden Bailey both won their matches leaving it 17-13 going into 141 and 149.
Ray Rioux, coming off an outstanding performance at William Jewell, battled hard against No. 6 Taylor Jokerest, but eventually fell leaving the match in the hands of
Chris Wilkerson, who faced No. 12 Tyler Stegall. Wilkerson fought for position early on but it was the experience of Stegall that reigned true, taking a major victory to close out the dual.

The Hounds will host their first dual of the season, welcoming in the Quincy Hawks a week from today on Wednesday, Jan. 25. The first match is set to take place at 6 p.m.
