KIRKSVILLE, Mo.—In a battle of GLVC heavyweights, the No. 13 UIndy football team took down host and 19th-ranked Truman State University Saturday afternoon, 38-17. The win kept the Greyhounds' perfect record intact while also securing sole possession of the conference lead.

INS & OUTS
The teams traded touchdowns through the early going, knotting the score at 14-14 with nine minutes left in the second quarter. Sophomore
Cobi Lewis had a pair of touchdown receptions to account for both UIndy scores.
Â
The first half featured an eventful ending, including a case for play of the year. Inside of six minutes left in the half, the UIndy special teams delivered the go-ahead touchdown with a blocked field goal and lengthy TD return. Junior
Aaron Barnett swatted the Bulldogs' 36-yard attempt, before senior
Landry Mavungu corralled the carom and took it 82 yards to the house.
Â
Â
Up 21-14 at the break, the Greyhounds pulled away with 10 unanswered points in the third quarter.
Jon Lewis (six-yard rush) and
Anthony Crowell (one-yard catch) each provided a second-half touchdown, with the latter's score late in the fourth good for the first of his career.
Â
The UIndy special teams continued to come up big, particularly punter
Luke Keller. Also a dual-threat quarterback, Keller broke off a 24-yard rush on a successful fake punt in the third quarter, and later pinned the Bulldogs at their own five-yard line with a perfect punt with just 4:30 to go.
Â
Truman had one last gasp, taking possession at the 4:22 mark in a two-score game. But senior captain
KJ Roudebush came up with a clutch interception and 48-yard return, setting up the Hounds' final score and sealing the win.
