Â
HOW IT HAPPENED
Looking to produce a massive upset in front of its home crowd, Jewell corralled the lead after the opening quarter and continued to fight hard through the first half. Luckily for UIndy, the Hounds notched an 8-0 scoring run early in the second quarter which then led to an advantage of seven points going into the intermission.
Â
Still trailing by seven with a final quarter of play remaining, the Cardinals came storming back and actually grabbed the lead at the 6:19 mark in the fourth on a jumper in the paint. From here, the lead continually traded hands the remainder of the way until UIndy used clutch free throw shooting down the stretch with under 30 seconds remaining to lock up the close victory.
