ROLLA, Mo. – The UIndy women's basketball team capped off the 2022-23 regular season with a 73-57 win over the Missouri S&T Miners on Saturday afternoon at Gibson Arena. With the win, the Hounds improve to 17-11 (13-7 GLVC) while the Miners drop to 15-13 (11-9 GLVC).

Three players for UIndy scored in double figures, led by
Sadie Hill who notched 19 points while grabbing seven rebounds.
Lauren With had 15 points and seven boards as well while
Ilani Williams-Harris collected 14 points and five boards herself.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Both teams battled tough in the opening 20 minutes of play trying to gain an upper hand over the other. A successful free throw by Missouri S&T at the 4:20 mark in the second quarter made it a close 26-24 contest in favor of UIndy. After this point, the Hounds ended the opening half on an 11-4 scoring run to take an advantage of nine points into the intermission.

The Miners stayed in the game and eventually trimmed their deficit down to six points as the third quarter came to a close. However, this was the lowest it got as UIndy continued to answer on the offensive end of the floor. Sitting in the driver's seat, the Hounds finished the game on a 5-0 scoring run to lock up the victory.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
-The Hounds finished shooting 46.6 percent from the field while the Miners ended at 32.2 percent.
-UIndy went 14-of-17 from the charity stripe.
-A total of 42 points were scored in the paint for the Greyhounds.
-UIndy led for 92.9 percent of the game.
-The Hounds out-rebounded the Miners by nine.

FINAL NOTE
The 17 wins marks the best regular season finish for the women's basketball program since the 2019-20 season.
