Fresh off its GLVC regular season title, the UIndy men's basketball team is set to play eighth-seeded Quincy in a league quarterfinal bout on Thursday afternoon in St. Charles, Mo. This year's GLVC postseason tournament is being held on the campus of former league member Lindenwood University.
The Greyhounds advance to their 22nd GLVC Championship Tournament, including their 14th straight appearance. Last season, UIndy earned their first-ever berth in the Conference title game, just one year following a quarterfinal upset at top-ranked Truman in head coach
Paul Corsaro's first winter on the bench. This year's regular-season title is the second in program history, following the 1996-97 team prior to a GLVC tournament taking place.
UIndy hauled in a pair of major league postseason awards earlier today, as
Kendrick Tchoua was named GLVC Player of the Year and
Paul Corsaro voted GLVC Coach of the Year. In addition,
Jesse Bingham was unanimously selected to the All-GLVC First Team, while he and
Jakobie Robinson earned places on the 10-person All-Defensive team. Senior
Ben Nicoson was chosen as the program's James R. Spalding sportsmanship nominee for the fourth time in his career.
