GAME 1 | UIS 11, UIndy 10
Brady Ware was the man on the mound for the Hounds in game one. The Prairie Stars jumped on him early, slapping a pair of singles into the outfield. An RBI groundout followed, giving UIS a 1-0 lead. The Hounds answered back and more in the top of the second via a
Zack Williams two RBI single up the gut. UIS went onto score one run in the second, third and fourth, setting the score at 4-2.
Â
The fifth is when the Hounds had their biggest scoring output, plating five.
Brandon DeWitt got the party started, slapping a double into centerfield, scoring
Easton Good. Ware, just a few at bats later, made his presence known from the plate, working a full count walk to send DeWitt home. A Prairie Stars error let up the third run of the fifth before
Jared Bujdos roped a ball into centerfield scoring two.
Â
The stars tied it in the sixth, with the Hounds taking the lead right back in the seventh via another UIS error and a
Denton Shepler two-RBI single. The Hounds pitchers couldn't calm the offense of UIS in the bottom of the seventh, giving up three to find the final score of 11-10.
