WASHINGTON—The UIndy men's swimming & diving team joined student-athletes from across all three NCAA divisions on Monday for College Athlete Day at the White House. The event was created by the Biden administration to recognize NCAA national champions from the past year.
The student-athletes and coaches were treated to a personal welcome and congratulations from Vice President Kamala Harris, the event's host.
"We're so grateful for the opportunity to continue celebrating the season we've had," said Head Coach
Brent Noble. We're proud to represent UIndy among the nation's best."
At the 2023 NCAA DII Swimming & Diving Championships last March, the Greyhounds captured the first
national title in program history while also becoming the first-ever UIndy men's program to win a team NCAA championship. The Hounds racked up an impressive 53 All-America nods at the season's biggest meet, including event national championships in the 1000 free (
Cedric Buessing), both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving boards (
Julio Osuna), and the 200 free relay (
Jeron Thompson,
Diego Mas,
Joao Silva and
Aqeel Joseph).
