Hounds Survive Last Minute Heroics to Force Draw Against Rockhurst

INDIANAPOLIS – With only three seconds left on the clock, the Rockhurst Hawks looked to have found the decider of a 1-0 GLVC-matchup against the host University of Indianapolis women's soccer team, but it would not stand as it was an offsides call that decided the match.

The Greyhounds now move to 2-3-2 on the season with a 1-1-1 mark in conference, while the Hawks 3-2-2, also sporting a 1-1-1 conference record. Genevieve Crocker tallied one of the Hounds three shots on goal and three of their 12 total shots as well as playing solid defense in the tie.

INS & OUTS
The Hawks would be the first to hit the shots column on the stats sheet, testing Kendall Ellis at the 6th minute of action, one that would be easily corralled. Ellis snatched four more saves in the first half, keeping a clean sheet heading into the break.

Coming out of the intermission, there were opportunities aplenty for the Hounds, with Lyza Shamy, Stephanie Brady and Sarah Wegener all grabbing attempts within the first six. The action went back and forth from that point on, which neither defensive unit giving any quality opportunities away. The aforementioned offsides was one of the best chances either side saw.

INSIDE THE BOX
- After setting a career-high in saves in the loss to Ohio Dominican, Ellis matched it in the tie, saving seven shots in the contest.
-  Both teams were set well with corners, each recording three in the game, one in the first and two in the second.
- Fouls were an issue for the Hounds, committing 10 in the second and 15 overall.
