Cardinals Inch by Hounds in Tight League Contest

LIBERTY, Mo. – The UIndy men's basketball team dropped its first game since November on Saturday, with a David Ejah 3-point attempt hitting the back of the rim at the buzzer sealing the 73-71 loss at William Jewell.

Kendrick Tchoua finished with a season-high 22 points in the loss, with Jesse Bingham close behind with 16 and six rebounds.

INS & OUTS
Trailing by three with less than two minutes remaining, Josiah Tynes drilled a corner triple to knot the game at 71 apiece following a huge offensive board from Ejah.

The Cardinals remained aggressive down the stretch, forcing three Greyhound fouls in the final 80 seconds to earn points from the charity stripe. The hosts sunk just half of its attempts from the line (2-for-4) to give UIndy a chance in the waning seconds. Ejah had a clean look at the buzzer that sailed just an inch long, as the Hounds' eight-game winning streak was halted in Liberty.

It was arguably one of the best games of the season, as the GLVC bout featured 13 lead changes and 12 ties throughout 40 minutes of action. Jewell carried a minimal two-point advantage at the break after Jesse Bingham drilled a 3-pointer in the team's final possession of the half.

Tchoua, who scored the game's first bucket 11 seconds after the opening tip, was one first all afternoon with a 9-for-10 effort from the field while securing four rebounds.

INSIDE THE BOX
- UIndy attempts 25 free throws for the second straight game on Saturday, sinking 17 at the line.

- Logging 30+ minutes for the third time this season, Paul Zilinskas provided more than just his five rebounds and four points against the Cardinals on Saturday. Stability is key.
