Greyhounds Drop Five-Set Battle at McKendree

LEBANON, Ill. - The UIndy volleyball team had its 13-match winning streak snapped on Friday night, dropping a five-set heartbreaker to McKendree.

Despite the Greyhounds leading 2-1, the Bearcats built momentum to win the final two sets to win the conference showdown.

Sophomore libero Ellie Spang had 25 digs during the contest, while senior Sophia Parlanti finished with 16 kills.

INS & OUTS
UIndy had 32 kills in the second and third sets, propelling them to an advantage after three. McKendree overpowered the Greyhound defense in the final two frames with a stronger offense, however, recording 21 kills on .314 attacking. The Bearcats posted nine kills compared to zero errors on the attack in the clinching game.

McKendree tallied five service aces in the final two sets, limiting the Greyhounds' offensive potential. The Hounds were held to only 13 kills in those frames, hitting an even .000 on 52 attempts.

Redshirt-junior Claire Morris achieved her sixth double-double of the fall, tallying 45 assists and 13 digs, while adding four kills. Defensive specialists, senior Lauren Peal and sophomore Macy Bruton, each scooped up 16 digs in the match.
