WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The UIndy swimming & diving program opened its 2024-25 season at the Dan Ross Indiana Intercollegiate Saturday afternoon. Held at the Morgan J. Burke Aquatic Center on the campus of Purdue University, the meet featured a total of 10 schools from all around the state.

Both the UIndy men's and women's team placed second only to the host Boilermakers. The men in particular gave Purdue a run, finishing within 40 points of the B1G opponent.

INS & OUTS
Newcomer
Jeremias Pock made a memorable Greyhound debut. The Germany native reset two school records on the day, including the 100 breaststroke mark (52.21) and the non-championship 100 IM (48.91).

Countryman and Olympian
Cedric Buessing also had a pair of individual wins, touching first in the 200 and 500 free. He posted a 4:23.36 in the latter event, nearly 16 seconds faster than second place.

Elias Noe also earned a win, besting the field in the 100 butterfly with a time of 48.17. UIndy took four of the top six spots in the race, including runner-up
Mihir Ambre (48.21).

Ambre also finish as the runner-up in the 50 free, finishing just ahead of teammate
Oskar Sawicki in third.

The UIndy men also won the 200 medley relay, with
Mattia Rossi,
Brayden Cole, Sawicki and Pock out-touching Purdue's best by more than a second-and-a-half. UIndy's B team also bested Purdue's No. 2.

On the women's side, All-Americans
Celina Schmidt and
Andrea Gomez earned event victories. Reigning DII champ Schimdt won the 100 breast, while Gomez won the 100 fly.

Kirabo Namutebi took runner-up in the 50 free, as did
Sydney Brandt in the 100 fly.
All-American
Alexis Lumaj led the Hounds; diving efforts, placing fifth and sixth in the 3- and 1-meter, respectively.

"This meet is not one we've done in the past, and it went the way we'd hoped," said head coach
Brent Noble. "Training has been what it needs to be, so our performances and camaraderie are positive right now."
