INS & OUTS
UIndy's established veterans took care business, as
Cedric Buessing,
Andrea Gomez,
Celina Schmidt and
Kirabo Namutebi all notched multiple event wins.
Â
Buessing led the way with three individual victories, including B-cut times in the 200 free and 400 IM. The former race was particularly tight, as he out-touched young brother Silas by a quarter of a second.
Â
Schmidt swept the breaststroke events; Namutebi won both the 50 and 100 free races, posting a B-time in the 100; while Gomez touched first in the 100 fly and the 200 IM.
Â
Newcomer
Jeremias Pock also recorded two event victories, winning both the 100 and 200 breaststroke. His 1:58.36 in the 200 breast was both a B-cut and also the fourth-fastest in school history.
Â
Other wins came from
Aqeel Joseph (50 free), Â
Silas Buessing (200 back),
Jamie Glover (1000 free),
Mia Krstevska (200 back) and
Caroline Reinke (100 back). Meanwhile,
Elias Noe's second-place time of 48.50 in the 100 butterfly bested the B-cut standard.
Â
Both UIndy women's relay teams out-touched their McKendree opponents, with Reinke and
Isabella Revstedt contributing on both the 200 FR and 400 MR.
Â
The Hounds took all four diving events, with
Alexis Lumaj and
Adam Carr winning on both heights. Lumaj's six-dive score of 293.93 on the 1-meter was good for an NCAA standard.
