Greyhounds Conclude Season After 1-0 GLVC Quarterfinal Loss At Drury

Indianapolis – In the quarterfinal round of the 2024 GLVC Women's Soccer Championship Tournament, the University of Indianapolis women's soccer team fell to Drury University 1-0 on Sunday, Nov 10. The Greyhounds finish the 2024 campaign with an overall record of 8-9-1, and 7-6-1 in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The match got off to a physical start, with four penalties within the first eight minutes. After holding two Drury corners at bay, UIndy faced its first real test at the 27:43 mark, where Jenna Taghikhani was forced to stop a Kourtney Tucker shot. The Panthers closed out the first half with two more shots, but neither chance landed on goal.

Drury came out of halftime with a storm of offense, but all three shots on goal were met with a response from Taghikhani, shutting the door on all efforts from the Panthers. The three Drury shots over a ten-minute stretch were the only shots on target for the rest of the second half from both sides, as the Hounds' offense was held to zero shots.

In overtime, Drury wasted no time dialing up offensive pressure, but Holland Hawkins couldn't beat Taghikhani with her shot just 37 seconds into extra time. At the 91:53 mark, the stalemate was broken by Audrey Camargo, as she put one past Taghikhani off a pass from Elena Perez to win the match for Drury.
