DAY 1
Gray started out his day strong with a comfortable 15-0 tech fall victory over McKendree's Dustin Olmstead. These two faced off two weeks ago, and resulted in a similar outcome to today's first round win for Gray.
He then backed up his first win with another comfortable 14-5 major decision over King's Jacob Telles, before advancing to the quarterfinals in a thrilling overtime decision.
Gray secured the third round victory with a 7-4 overtime decision after taking down #11 Jake Swirple from Minot State with a walk-off take down.
At 125, Smith began his day with a loss to fellow GLVC competitor Jason Strope from McKendree, but went on a roll after that, winning two straight en route to a place in the fifth round wrestleback.
Smith racked up a 12-4 major decision over Grand Valley State's Orion Wilson, and eventually punched his ticket to the second day with a convincing shutout victory in three periods over Joshua Jasionowicz from East Stroudsburg.
In the 133 weight class, Billerman had a similar start to the day as Smith, but rebounded quickly with two pin victories with a spladle over Western Colorado's Devin Gomez and American International's Joseph Aldrich.
The Hounds had three pin victories on the day, Billerman's pin against Gomez was the Hounds quickest pin of day one at 1:01 in the first period.
