INDIANAPOLIS – The No. 7-ranked University of Indianapolis men's tennis team proved their rankings correct, dominating the visiting No. 8 Wayne State Warriors by a score of 4-1 early on Saturday. The Hounds extend their unbeaten streak to 4-0, beating three-straight ranked squads.

Doubles carried a similar theme over from the Washburn match with
Tom Zeuch and
Matthieu Derache upsetting yet another highly ranked doubles squad. The new top pair for the Hounds downed No. 5 Cedric Drenth and Daniel Grey of the Warriors 6-3 to continue their hot streak.

Pedro Franca and
David Simeonov were the other Hounds doubles pairings to claim victory, winning 6-1.

Zeuch, fresh off setting the table in doubles, did so once again, capturing the win in straight sets 6-4, 6-3. The Warriors, refusing a sweep, snagged a win at No. 2 singles before the No. 25-ranked Derache captured a 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 4.

Louis Picaud played the clincher, rattling off a quality second set to ice the match with a 6-4, 6-3 win.

The Hounds will hope to bring their hot streak into the ITA DII National Team Indoors. The yearly mid-season team tournament is set to take place starting on Feb. 16 in the UIndy Tennis Center, with the Hounds set to face Columbus State in a rematch of the National Semifinals on the first day of competition.
