Strong Second Half Propels Hounds Past Cardinals

INDIANAPOLIS – The UIndy men's basketball avenged its early season loss to William Jewell College on Thursday evening, earning a 70-68 victory from inside Nicoson Hall amidst another rowdy student section.

David Ejah came alive in the second half, scoring 14 of his 21 points after the break with three triples. The senior nearly finished with a double-double, securing nine rebounds in the win.

The Greyhounds improve to 13-2 all-time against the Cardinals, with five of the past six meetings decided by four points or less.

INS & OUTS
The intensity grew in the second half, after William Jewell went into the break with a six-point advantage. It took just more than three minutes after halftime for UIndy to snag its first lead of the night, with Josiah Tynes finding Jarvis Walker in the corner for the junior's lone 3-pointer of the evening.

The GLVC foes traded leads nine times down the stretch, with a huge defensive play from Kendrick Tchoua under 12 minutes left setting the tone for a game that would seemingly come down to a single possession.

Jesse Bingham gave the Greyhounds the lead for good with six minutes remaining, following a jumper with a driving dunk over a defender. The Cardinals had a shot at the buzzer, trailing by two after an Ejah free-throw attempt, but Kobe McKinley's triple sailed as time expired.
