ST. LOUIS – The UIndy men's basketball team secured its second straight GLVC regular season title on Thursday night, earning a 67-57 victory at Missouri-St. Louis at the Mark Twain Building.
The victory also cements back-to-back 20-win seasons for the Greyhounds for the first time since 2015-16 when they rattled off five consecutive campaigns.
Â
Jarvis Walker led all scorers – again – with 25 points; the junior has now recorded 20+ points in three of the past four games.
Â
INS & OUTS
UIndy built a 19-point advantage at the break, using a 14-4 run in the final six minutes to head to the locker room with a cushion. Ten of those points came from the hands of Walker, who drilled three triples during the stretch.
Â
Jesse Bingham scored 13 of his 18 points in the second half, including the first and final bucket for the Hounds. On its way to a lead of a game-high 21,
Sean Craig drilled his first 3-pointer of the night before Walker hit a jumper in the paint with 12:11 on the scoreboard to put UIndy ahead, 50-29.
Â
After an and-1 opportunity for
Julian Steinfeld at the 6:08 mark, the Tritons forged a comeback attempt that saw the Hounds' lead dwindle to eight with less than three minutes remaining.
Kendrick Tchoua made a huge block on a driving Matt Enright in the waning moments, as Bingham sunk all four of his final free throw attempts to seal the road win.
Â
The Greyhounds successfully completed the (regular) season sweep over the Tritons and have won consecutive games against the league foe for the first time since 2018-19.

HOUND BYTES
Head coach Paul Corsaro on winning the GLVC regular season…
"To win the GLVC outright for the second year in a row – and the fact there hasn't been a back-to-back regular season champion since 2000 – is extremely impressive. I'm proud of the men in our locker room."
