EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – The UIndy baseball team moved to 5-0 in GLVC-action after scoring a 7-4 victory over the McKendree Bearcats.

Dawson Gabe was on one on the bump, tossing eight-innings as the Hounds starter, punching out nine Bearcats in the process.
E.J. White came into close for the Hounds, snagging his fourth save of the season with a one-hit ninth inning.

Offensively, the three-and-four-hole duo of
Caleb Vaughn and
Zack Williams led the Hounds in RBIs.

INS & OUTS
Runs came early for the Hounds as
Drew Donaldson punished a game opening walk from the bearcats, cranking a double to score the first UIndy run of the ballgame. Vaughn kept the run train rolling with a sac fly into center, allowing Donaldson to score from third.

With a two-run cushion, Gabe cooked from the mound, hot allowing a hit until the third frame and then not allowing another until the sixth.

The Hounds etched a yet another crooked number in the top sixth, the highlights coming via a Vaughn triple and a
Nick Lukac opposite field RBI single.

The Bearcats responded with their own three-spot in the bottom of the sixth, taking advantage of a pair of inning-opening walks and a throwing error by Gabe.

The score stayed put from there until the top of the ninth where the Hounds added another pair of runs in a bout of insurance for the UIndy pitchers.
