Box Score SAINT LEO, Fla. – In their first taste of action since March 3, the UIndy women's team battled the No. 13-ranked Saint Leo Lions in their own Saint Leo Tennis Center. The Greyhounds struggled however, falling 4-0 to the lower-ranked Lions, marking the first time the Hounds have been swept this season, and their first such defeat since Feb. 24 of 2023.
Â
INS & OUTS
It went three, two, one in doubles action with the pair of
Benedetta Sensi and
Diane Flament squeaking out a 6-3 victory. The top pair of
Maria Fiacan and
Maissane Aik put up a commendable fight with the Lions' fifth-ranked pair, but fell just short in a tiebreak.
Â
The Lions jumped all over Aik at the No. 3 court, taking that in straight sets, but the victories at courts one and two were much more grueling. No. 10
Tyffaine Pais fell behind quickly after a 6-1 first set stumble. However, the firey freshman rattled off a 6-1 set of her own before the final set fell the Lions way.
Â
Flament, much like Pais, dropped the first set, but rattled back with a dominant second. The ball did not fall in the Hounds favor however, as Flament dropped the clinching last set 6-3.

UP NEXT
