LEBANON, Ill. - The UIndy women's basketball team closed the 2023-24 with a, 58-84, loss to McKendree on the road. The Greyhounds finished the season 13-15 and 10-12 in conference play. The Greyhound season ended despite just missing the qualifications for the GLVC tournament.
Elana Wells finished with 18 points, a team-high. Wells also led the team in assists with five and three blocks.
INS & OUTS
The Greyhounds enter the second half down, 29-32, to the Bearcats.
Ilani Williams-Harris started the third quarter with a layup and a 3-pointer to take the lead by two points. McKendree responded with five points of their own to retake the lead. Another 3-pointer by Williams-Harris at 6:29 tied the game at 37. For the rest of the quarter, the two teams were neck-and-neck, continuing to tie and exchange the lead.
The Bearcats turned on the jets in the final 10 minutes, holding the Greyhounds to only nine points. A 22-5 run in the final seven minutes cemented the Hounds' defeat.
INSIDE THE BOX
- Williams-Harris was the second Greyhound to finish in double figures. The senior had 13 points and was 3-for-6 from downtown.

Patricia Chikamba was the rebound leader for the team, accumulating six during the contest. As a team, UIndy finished with 28.
- The Greyhounds struggled from beyond the arc shooting 8-of-12.
- The Hounds were able to keep control of the ball, turning it over only 14 times. McKendree struggled compared to UIndy, finishing with 20 turnovers.
MORE NOTES
The highest scorer for the Bearcats was Naomi McDaniel. McDaniel finished with a double-double, she had 19 points and 10 rebounds. She also led McKendree in steals (five) and blocks (four). ... Despite the loss, UIndy continues to lead the all-time series, 10-7.
